Labrador Retriever Fetches Another Dog

I'm just killing some time on a nice Sunday afternoon by shooting a video of my Labrador Retriever fetching our Jack Russel-Poodle mix.

Just so you know, we posted someone on the other side of the street to make sure no cars were coming.

Enjoy!

Teaching Directional Hand Signals

Directional hand signals are a great way to let your dog know what direction you want her to move when she is off leash. It is ideal for use in Colorado's Open Space or anywhere you need to maintain control of your dog from a distance.

In this video, I explain how to train your dog to understand hand signals using the sit-stay and the retrieve as core competencies. I call this method "The Baseball Diamond," and it is one of numerous ways to teach directional control. But if your dog loves to play fetch, this method is hard to beat.
