Sporty the Wonder Dog

Breed: Lab/Shepherd or Lab/Greyhound

Location: Animal shelter near Denver, Colorado

Sporty is, in a word, FUN! He loves to chase sticks and tennis balls, but once he catches them he wants to play keep-away. But he'll readily relinquish his prize if you hold up another tennis ball.

With a little training this dog could be the fetching champion of the world because of his speed (I think that's the greyhound in him). I'd adopt him myself if I could.

Sporty is also very affectionate. He spots me as soon as I enter the shelter and is my best buddy when I get him on the leash. He will make someone a very loyal friend.

Sporty will need daily walks. When it comes to training, he is extremely smart, and the sky is the limit on his abilities. He would be an excellent camping and hiking buddy, and once he bonds with you he will love you forever.

Sporty loves to play with other dogs. He's pretty feisty, and I'm not sure he'd be great with toddlers, but older kids would have a blast with him. He needs an active, fun family.
